Basic information about the metro in Jaipur
Jaipur Metro was first introduced to the public in 2015, the North-South corridor. Since then it has been enlarged and the original corridor was added east-west. Currently operates with 31 stations, spread over less than 33 km. On average, the metro carries about 20,000 passengers a day. At the moment, there are no plans for any more extensive expansion.
Ticket price
There are 3 basic fare types available for metro transport. The first is the RFID token, which is an ordinary ticket whose price depends on the distance traveled. You’ll pay for it from $ 5 ($ 1.6) to $ 15 (less than $ 5).
The second type of fare is a card that pays especially to locals or those who plan to stay in the city for a longer period. Their purchase price is 50 rupees ($ 0,7), which is the amount that also serves as a deposit. On the fare you will get an average 10-15% discount. These cards are valid for 3 years and must be recharged regularly.
The third option is tourist cards, which are valid for a certain period. You can purchase their one-day (50 rupees) or three-day variant (150 rupees). Even when you buy these types of cards, you have to pay a deposit of 50 rupees.
All types of fare can be purchased at any metro station.

Time tables
Both corridors are open every day from 6:45 to 21:00. You usually wait a few minutes for the metro, but the specific frequency depends on the day, time and busyness of the metro. You can get information about timetables on site.
Bus transportation
You can also use the bus service to get around the city. But the bus ride is more time consuming and you can stay on the crowded suns. Some bus lines connect to the subway so you can easily combine transport. You can get information on timetables and fares right on the spot.
Taxi
There is also a taxi in the city. You can call him only on the street or in the places where the taxi is usually standing. For us Europeans, it is a relatively inexpensive way of transport, and taxis are on every corner. However, it is important to arrange the price in advance, otherwise, you are at risk that your local taxi drivers will get you more money than you would like.
However, we recommend that you use the UBER application, where you have the first free coupon for free!
